A data center designed for maximum availability is a combination of highly specialized infrastructures defined by corresponding redundancies, which are operated via intelligent control and monitoring logics, highly available and as efficient as possible.

The EMC HostCo certifies its infrastructures, according to DIN EN 50600 defined criteria in availability class VK3 and efficiency class GN3 certified.

The defined availability target of the technical infrastructure is 100% . In order to get as close as possible to this goal, only high-quality and highly-available infrastructure components are used.

When selecting its partners to build, operate, and maintain these components, EMC HostCo relies solely on contracted, market-leading companies in accordance with ISO 9001 and 27001.

Building control technology - the "central nervous system"

Similar to humans, each data center needs a "central nervous system", a so-called DCIM system. This monitors the infrastructures of the data center for their function, alerts in the event of a malfunction and independently executes defined actions to maintain their function.

Several thousand sensors and measuring points help to detect the failure of individual components, which unfortunately can not always be ruled out, and to minimize the impact of existing infrastructure redundancies.

In addition, DCIM systems at EMC HostCo make a significant contribution to maximizing the efficiency of state-of-the-art infrastructures. As a result, EMC HostCo realizes a degree of efficiency, called PUE for short , of less than 1.28 during operation - and this has been proven!
